I’ve always thought the idea of ‘settling down’ would include four paws as well. The idea of long walks in the park, bedtime cuddles, wrestling in the yard together, I wanted it all. And after a year and a half of waiting to find the right one, Parker is here and I couldn’t be more overjoyed. Early spring of last year I started pinning images, saving links to leashes, and checking puppy websites vigorously! We had a few opportunities fall through, weather or timing wasn’t right, and I am so glad we waiting all of that out! Parker is everything we wanted out of a pup, he’s sweet, smart, and has the most adorable personality!
It took months for me to convince Brandon that this pup would be a good thing. He had some rough experiences with pets growing up, but I pushes and ensured him, and of course we got Parker 😉 At this point, he knows i’m usually right! The smile on his face when we picked Parker up (which we wont be sharing THAT story…) said it all for me! Now when I see them playing or cuddling, I always know to remind him how lucky we are to have this boy.
Parker is a f1 goldendoodle (golden retriever/poodle) from a breeder in western Maryland. I am allergic to dogs, hence the reasoning for the poodle-mix breed. Unlike our expectations, he does shed but does not make me itch, and that is really all that matters to us! He is currently 19 weeks old & 40lbs! We are anticipating he will be at least 80lbs!
Shortly after we brought him home, I got very sick. I spend sometime in the hospital but was bed ridden for a solid week. It was one of the most difficult things i’ve ever done, and having a new pup who needed my love and attention made it that much harder! It took me a month to get back to my old self. Therefor, I don’t have as many photos from when he was a baby, so I frequently take as many as possible, as you can imagine!
