There is something so sweet about the weeks before a baby is born. The anticipation, the prepping, the waiting. At some point it all becomes so surreal and before you know it that little one is home. And shortly after that they’re running circles around you, calling you mom, and you wonder how you can get those moments of anticipation back. Maternity portraits are the perfect way to reflect on those moments. One day you will look at them with that child and tell them about how you waited so patiently for their arrival. They will oooh and ahh at the idea of being inside your belly, as they were making you a mother. So in the end the portraits were meant for you, but they end up being more for your child. And who wouldn’t want to show their child how much you loved them before they were even born? It is because of the idea of the future of the portrait that I love capturing maternity portraits. To think that one day Lacey will show her little one just how excited she was to meet him is just so endearing.
I was so excited when Lacey reached out to me about these! Lacey is absolutely radiant! I haven’t seen Lacey and Eric in a while and was ecstatic for them when I heard about the baby! They’re going to make the best parents and little Reed is a lucky guy to have such a wonderful family! I can’t wait to see his smiling face after he enters this world!
