Do you ever do something and feel like you can’t believe it’s actually happening? That’s exactly how I felt while shooting these portraits. When I photographed Phil and Christina’s first baby’s newborn portraits, I just knew they were going to build the sweetest family. My business was just a thought at that point and their journey had just begun, but somehow I knew this is how it would look someday. In a way, I feel like i’ve been building my business at the same pace they’ve been building their family – strong and steady. And I am in no way as fulfilled as little Julia makes their family, but every time I photograph another life event for them, I feel a piece of the puzzle coming together. And as expected, baby Julia has completed them and it was blissful to see them all together like they were meant to be.

They were calling Julia, the ‘tie-breaker’ before they even knew Julia was going to be Julia. You see, when I found out Phil and Christina were waiting to find out the sex of their new baby, I was cheering them on all the way! In a world full of ‘gender reveals’ and ‘over-nesters’, there is something so nostalgic about waiting to find out! And it didn’t matter to them as long as their final piece of the puzzle was healthy and strong, and she sure is a beauty!

When we got together to capture their maternity session in January, all I could think about was how Dori and Brooks would be with their new sibling. It is obvious that they’re over-joyed with Julia and she might as well be Dori’s baby! Seeing the love between the three of them really put a smile on my face. Just knowing how close the three of them will grow up together and just how lucky they really are to have no only each other, but really great parents! I can’t wait to watch Julia grow and i’m sure I will be sharing more portraits of them very soon!
