Kati & Mike have been together for years! They recently purchased their first home together in southern Maryland. They wanted to do their engagement session in Washington DC because they loved the architecture and wanted to create classic imagery that would stand the test of time.
We met for sunrise, popped a bottle of champagne and celebrated this new season of life! There is something so romantic about the lighting at sunrise. The sun travels up the Washington Monument and the golden light hits the reflection pool beautifully. It is totally worth waking up nice and early for!
Washington DC is a location that I have recently started photographing at, both for engagement sessions and weddings, and I absolutely love it.
As a history buff myself, I love walking down the mall and through the historic streets with my couples envisioning what it used to be. Now that I have gotten my feet wet in our nation’s capital, I can’t wait to shoot my next DC wedding!
The most recent Washington wedding I photographed was for Molly and David at Hotel Washington – check it out on the blog here!
