Maternity sessions are quickly becoming a favorite for me, especially when they include such special friends. Throughout my branding, I stress so much about clients turning into friends, and the Dassings are the perfect example. When I first met Christina and Phil, I was honored when they asked me to capture Dori’s newborn portraits. I had just started college and didn’t even own a full framed camera! It is easy to say that I had no idea what I was doing with newborns but from that shoot a sweet friendship was born.
To say I adore the Dassing’s would be an understatement. I have watched their family grow over the years and get teary eyed just thinking about how they’re now welcoming their third baby into this world! When Christina told me that this little one would be their last, we decided that we had to do maternity pictures! Christina makes the most beautiful mother and I just love the way Dori looks up to her!
We decided to meet at the Patapsco Valley State Park for part one of my Motherhood Collection! We captured Christina’s sweet bump and also some family portraits of the four of them. Christina and Phil share the love that I have for this park, for not only its beauty but the rich history behind the Patapsco Valley. I was so glad when they wanted to take a few pictures in front of the Thomas Viaduct Bridge! The bridge is landmark of Elkridge that we are all so very proud of! I hope that more families will want portraits in front of this gorgeous bridge!
They are waiting to find out the gender of the baby until he or she is born! I just love this idea, so fun! I will be joining them in their home, after the baby has made his/her arrival next month for a lifestyle session! I just can’t wait to see Dori and Brooks holding their little sibling, and watch this family become complete!
