When these two inquired this past summer, I was over the moon. When I first started my business, most of my clients were family, friends, or even friends-of-friends. And of course I didn’t mind, because at that point my business was just leaping off the ground. So when that email slid through from Michelle and Gardner, two people who I hadn’t met, you could say I was a bit excited. This fall i’ve been getting more of those and they’re making me feel like i’m headed in the right direction. New faces, new clients, new friends – that’s something I can get used to! We met up at a coffee shop and chatted about their big day with Michelle’s mom. One of the things we talked about the most was how important it was to trust the vendors you were choosing for your wedding, especially your photographer! I cannot stress this enough! This is someone you are not only going to spend the entire day with, but will deliver images to you that you will need to love – because you can’t redo them! I tell all of my couples this – find something you connect with! I connected with Michelle and Gardner right away, they honestly felt like friends at their engagement shoot!
They chose Brookside Gardens for their engagement shoot and it didn’t fail to impress! That place is gorgeous and the gardener in me can appreciate all the hard work that goes into each and every bloom! It was much hotter than we had hoped, but they powered through it and I am so glad they did! We talked about their wedding plans, where they were living, their jobs – the usual chats about life you can expect from me (got that from mom, ha!)! I of course loved shooting Michelle gorgeous ring on every flower I saw. Flowers and ring shots are my absolute favorite!
Their wedding is late May of next year at Swan Harbor Farm (stunnnning!) and I am overjoyed to be capturing every moment with them! I can’t wait for your big day!!
Enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement shoot!
